The invention provides a method for treating various types of cancer/tumor by administering the combination of SDF-1 antagonist, in particular, that specifically binds to human CXCR4, and another chemotherapeutic agent, or a radiation therapy, during an embolization therapy. Such combination therapies exhibit synergistic effects compared to the treatment with either agent alone.
