The invention relates to a device (1) for contraction of the knee joint of a person, for the purpose of performing an examination of said knee. The device comprises: - a structure (2) intended to receive the person in a sitting or lying position, - locking means (4) for a corresponding thigh of the person relative to the structure, - a footrest (5D , 5G), intended to receive a corresponding foot of the person, the footrest comprising means for locking the foot of the person, the footrest being rotatable about an axis (RD, RG) intended to be placed perpendicular to the person's foot.
