PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope for acquiring the image of the inner peripheral surface of a hole in a wide range without the need of skill in an operation.
SOLUTION: The endoscope 1 includes: outer shells 2 and 3 which are molded in a cylindrical shape and provided with a transparent cylindrical part 13c extending in an axial direction on the peripheral wall an LED 55 and a solid-state imaging element 23 which are provided inside the outer shell an illumination optical system 57, 16 and 15b which irradiates an object with the illumination light of the LED through the cylindrical part an objective optical system 17, 16 and 51 which includes an objective lens 17 for converging object light through the cylindrical part and forms an image on the solid-state imaging element a lens holder 19 which holds at least the objective lens of the objective optical system and a driving mechanism 21 which moves a support along the axis of the outer shell. The LED is arranged away from the solid-state imaging element in the axial direction of the outer shell, the lens holder is moved between the LED and the solid-state imaging element along the axis of the outer shell, and the irradiation port 15b of the illumination optical system is provided on the lens holder.
