The "Compost Wand" aerates and waters compost in one operation without the need to mix the compost to aid the decomposition. The compost wand is attached to a water hose and is inserted into the compost through the slots or openings in the compost bin or directly into the pile if no compost bin is used. Holes in the tube of the compost wand water the compost evenly while inserting the tube itself into the compost helps to aerate the compost. The compost wand is inserted every few inches apart throughout the compost and the compost is watered for a few seconds at each location to ensure the compost is kept damp but not wet. On average watering the compost every couple of weeks throughout the growing season is recommended.
