PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying method of a nickel hydroxide cake that prevents the cake from sticking to the inside of a dryer and reduces an oversize amount in sieve treatment after drying when a nickel hydroxide cake is dried, and to provide a manufacturing method of nickel hydroxide powder that is used as a raw material of nickel powder suitable for an internal electrode of a multilayer ceramic capacitor.SOLUTION: In a drying method of a nickel hydroxide cake, an aqueous solution containing a nickel salt is neutralized and crystallized to obtain nickel hydroxide slurry and a wet nickel hydroxide cake obtained by subjecting the slurry to solid-liquid separation is heated and dried. The drying method includes a first step for depressurizing a dryer loaded with the nickel hydroxide cake and drying the stationary cake while introducing outside air thereinto, and a second step for further depressurizing the sealed dryer and then agitating and crushing the metal hydroxide cake in the dryer.
