PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating liquid for a timed-release pharmaceutical preparation which starts drug release in a digestive tract after the lapse of non-release time (lag time) which is from the start of taking a solid preparation to the start of discharge of a drug, and to provide a production method of a solid preparation coated with the coating liquid.SOLUTION: A coating liquid for a solid preparation is obtained by dispersing high viscosity hypromellose whose viscosity of 2 mass% aqueous solution is 50 mPa s or more at 20°C, in solution in which hydroxypropyl cellulose whose viscosity of 2 mass% aqueous solution is less than 50 mPa s at 20°C or low viscosity hypromellose whose viscosity of 2 mass% aqueous solution is less than 50 mPa s at 20°C is dissolved in solvent. A solid preparation is obtained by being coated with the coating liquid.
