The present invention relates to a method of providing information for the diagnosis of pre-eclampsia or eclampsia. The present invention also relates to a method for treating preeclampsia or intergenic using a compound capable of increasing the concentration of VEGF or PlGF or a compound capable of decreasing the concentration of sFlt-1.
