PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope-purpose processor and an endoscope-purpose processor control method that have an information security management function.SOLUTION: In an endoscope system 10, an endoscope-purpose processor 20 comprises: an endoscope-purpose connector 31； an image recording unit 81； a user authentication unit 82； an information protection unit 83； a setting information recording unit； and a setting information acquisition unit. The image recording unit is configured to record images taken by an endoscope 40 connected to the endoscope-purpose connector. The user authentication unit is configured to perform user authentication. When the user authentication unit does not succeed in the user authentication, the information protection unit is configured to prohibit the image from being read from the image recording unit. The setting information recording unit is configured to record a user and setting information in association with each other.
