Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft silberfarbene Pigmente umfassend nichtmetallische plättchenförmige synthetische Substrate und wenigstens eine ilmenithaltige Beschichtung, wobei das nichtmetallische plättchenförmige Substrat ein nichtmetallisches plättchenförmiges synthetisches Substrat ist und der Gehalt an Eisenverbindungen, berechnet als elementares Eisen, in dem Pigment bei weniger als 5,0 Gew.-%, bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht des Pigments, liegt.
