PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seedling transplanter that is provided with a torque smoothing mechanism in a planting transmission shaft system of a planting unit to generate an opposite phase torque in the planting transmission shaft system to thereby prevent torsional vibration of the planting transmission shaft system, thus stabilizing a planted state of seedlings, and achieving improved workability.SOLUTION: The seedling transplanter includes: a transmission mechanism (PTO shaft 123) for extracting a drive PTO output from a mission case 4 and a planting drive unit for driving, by the power from the PTO shaft 123, a planting arm 22 for supporting and rotating a planting claw 17. The planting drive unit includes: a planting drive horizontal shaft 51 for driving the planting arm 22 by an non-uniform speed gear mechanism and a planting drive vertical shaft 53 for distributing the planting drive force from the planting drive horizontal shaft 51 to the planting arm 22.
