The present invention provides a crystalline form of HPPH (2-((1-n-hexyloxy) ethyl)-2-divinyl-pyropheophorbide-a). The crystalline form can be characterized by an X-ray powder diffraction pattern (XRD) and differential scanning calorimeter pattern (DSC).
