PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate all the processes for measuring in a device to measure masticatory ability using gummi jelly containing coloring matter.SOLUTION: The masticatory ability measuring device includes a container to contain masticated pieces of gummi jelly, a measuring base 12 on which the container is installed, an agitation head 3 arranged at an upper position of the measuring base 12 to be capable of elevating and rotating around a vertical axis so as to penetrate into the container on the measuring base 12, a head elevation drive mechanism to elevate the agitation head 3 to move, a head rotation drive mechanism to drive the agitation head 3 to rotate around the vertical axis, a water supply and drain water to and from the container on the measuring base 12, and a means to measure the color depth of the coloring matter liquated into water from the masticated pieces housed in the container on the measuring base 12. Using a relational expression preliminarily determined by regression analysis, increased quantity in surface area of the gummi jelly is introduced based on output values of the color depth measuring means to be set for measurement of masticatory ability.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】色素を含有するグミゼリーを用いて咀嚼能力を測定する装置において、測定のための全工程を自動化する。【解決手段】本発明に係る咀嚼能力測定装置は、グミゼリーの咬断片を収容するための容器と、容器を設置するための測定台12と、測定台12の上方位置に昇降及び鉛直軸回りの回転が可能に配備され、測定台12上の容器内へ侵入させることが可能な攪拌ヘッド3と、攪拌ヘッド3を昇降移動させるヘッド昇降駆動機構と、攪拌ヘッド3を鉛直軸回りに回転駆動するヘッド回転駆動機構と、測定台12上の容器に対して水の供給と排出を行なう給排水機構と、測定台12上の容器に収容されている咬断片から容器内の水中へ溶出した色素の濃度を測定する手段とを具え、予め回帰分析によって求められている関係式を用いて、濃度測定手段の出力値からグミゼリーの表面積増加量を導出し、これを咀嚼能力の測定値とする。【選択図】図1
