A method of making an orthotic is disclosed. The method includes the steps of taking measurements relating to a foot and then creating a digital representation of an orthotic on a display device based on said measurements. This digital representation of the orthotic having a heel portion for supporting a heel of a person and a distal portion located in front of the heel portion which can be divided into first and second distal portions. The thickness of the digital representation of the first and second distal portions is then varied such that one of the distal portions is thicker than the other. Finally,an additive manufacturing technique,using a substantially uniform material or materials, is used to create a physical version of the digital representation of the orthotic.La présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'une orthèse. Le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à prendre des mesures relatives à un pied puis à créer une représentation numérique d'une orthèse sur un dispositif d'affichage sur la base desdites mesures. Cette représentation numérique de l'orthèse présentant une partie talon pour supporter un talon d'une personne et une partie distale située en face de la partie talon qui peut être divisée en des première et seconde parties distales. L'épaisseur de la représentation numérique de la première et de la seconde partie distale est ensuite amené à varier, de telle sorte que l'une des parties distale est plus épaisse que l'autre. Enfin, une technique de fabrication supplémentaire, utilisant un matériau ou des matériaux sensiblement uniformes, est utilisée pour créer une version physique de la représentation numérique de l'orthèse.
