PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inhibiting the generation of degradation odor for retaining the fragrance inherent to a citrus flavor.SOLUTION: The method for inhibiting the generation of degradation odor comprises adding, to a citrus flavor-containing product, a dicarboxylic acid having a conjugated double bond in the molecule or a metal salt thereof to inhibit the generation of one kind or two or more kinds of compounds selected from the group consisting of p-cresol, p-cymene, p-methylacetophenone, α-terpineol and terpinolene.SELECTED DRAWING: None
