PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further reduce the time necessary for the sterilization process in an isolator.
SOLUTION: The isolator 100 comprises a working chamber 10 for the work with a material derived from a living body as a target, a gas feeding part 20 for feeding gas into the working chamber 10, a gas discharging part 30 for discharging the gas inside the working chamber 10, a HEPA (High Efficient Particulate Air) filter 40 disposed between the gas feeding part 20 and the working chamber 10, a bypass channel 50 connecting the downstream side of the gas flow in the HEPA filter 40 to the gas discharging part 30 without via the working chamber 10, a sterilization substance feeding part 70 for feeding a sterilization substance into the working chamber 10, and a control part. The control part feeds the sterilization substance into the working chamber 10 from the sterilization substance feeding part 70, and starts discharging the sterilization substance by the gas discharging part 30 after the interior of the working chamber 10 is sterilized. Then, when the concentration of the sterilization substance inside the working chamber 10 becomes a prescribed concentration or lower, the control part changes the gas channel so that the gas flows through the bypass channel 50.
