Provided is a method of manufacturing a hollow fiber membrane layer laminate that includes a plurality of hollow fiber membranes forming a laminate of a plurality of hollow fiber membrane layers and has a cylinder shape as a whole shape, the method including: a winding step of winding the hollow fiber membranes around a central axis of the cylinder while reciprocating the hollow fiber membranes in a central axis direction of the cylinder to laminate, in a radial direction of the cylinder, the hollow fiber membrane layers in each of which the hollow fiber membranes adjacent to each other in the central axis direction of the cylinder are separated by a predetermined distance, wherein in the winding step, a speed differential z is reduced as the hollow fiber membrane layer approaches an outer side in the radial direction of the cylinder, wherein the speed differential z is a value obtained by dividing a pitch between the hollow fiber membranes adjacent to each other in the central axis direction of the cylinder by a traverse reciprocating distance.
