Soft and strong fibrous structures and more particularly soft and strongfibrous structuresthat contains less softwood fibers than known fibrous structures and methodsfor making suchsoft and strong fibrous structures are provided. In particular, provided is alayered fibrousstructure exhibiting a basis weight of from about 10 to about 120 g/m2. Thefibrous structurecomprising greater than 50% by weight on a dry fiber basis of pulp fibers,wherein greater than0% but less than 20% by weight on a dry fiber basis of the pulp fibers aresoftwood fibers,wherein the pulp fibers comprise trichome fibers, wherein one or more of thetrichome fibers arederived from a plant in the Stachys genus, and wherein one or more of thetrichome fibers arederived from a plant Stachys byzantina.
