Compositions having biocidal properties are disclosed. The composition comprises a first biocide acting in synergy with a second biocide to destroy or inhibit the growth of at least one microorganism. The first biocide includes a quaternary ammonium salt. The second biocide, on the other hand, can comprise a biguanide.
