The present invention provides a high purity heparin useful to be a pharmaceutical product, cosmetics, research reagent, or the like, and a method for producing the same, more specifically, a heparin which does not substantially contain a nitrous acid degradation-resistant impurity and a method for producing a heparin, comprising mixing an aqueous solution of 5 to 30% by weight of the heparin with ethanol having an amount (volume) 0.2 to 1 times the amount (volume) of the aqueous heparin solution to obtain a colloidal precipitate of heparin.본 발명은 의약품, 화장품, 연구시약 등으로 유용한 고순도 헤파린 및 그 제조방법을, 더 상세하게는, 아질산 분해 저항성 불순물을 실질적으로 함유하지 않는 헤파린 및 5∼30중량%의 헤파린 수용액에 대해서, 0.2∼1배량(체적)의 에탄올을 혼합하고, 헤파린의 콜로이드상 침전물을 얻는 것을 포함하는 헤파린의 제조방법을 제공한다.
