Disclosed are a plant growth process exhibition method and system within a planting box. The method is applied to a server. The server is in communication connection with a planting box and an image collection module is placed within the planting box. The method comprises the following steps: receiving scene pictures for a scene within the planting box sent by the planting box, wherein the scene pictures are collected by the planting box through the image collection module in the process of a plant growth process within the planting box determining whether the sum of the received scene pictures reaches a predetermined sum threshold value if so, then determining at least two feature pictures representing a growth stage of the plant within the planting box in the received scene pictures using the determined feature pictures to generate a video file of the growth process of the plant within the planting box and sending the video file to a pre-set associated user of the planting box.
