PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-absorbing resin composition in which absorbed liquid is controlled to discharge by the influence of a cation in a water-absorbing resin.SOLUTION: The water-absorbing resin composition includes 1-100 g of an alginic acid based compound based on 100 g of a water-absorbing resin. The alginic acid based compound that can be used is an alginic acid or an alginate, and the alginate is sodium alginate or potassium alginate, for instance. As for the alginic acid based compound, at least two kinds may be used together.
