A device for suture thread cutting, containing:a handle；a stationary external element having a channel at the distal end, and a proximal end connected to said handle, said channel is fitted and shaped for holding a suture thread；a movable cutter having a cutting edge, partially inserted into said handle, said cutting edge is configured to move between a first position and a second position in said channel；wherein in said first position the suture thread is retained within the channel and in said second position the suture thread is cut.
