PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bamboo-derived antibacterial agent having selectivity for food poisoning-causing bacteria, which has food poisoning-causing bacteria selectivity and having a low content of benzopyrenes having toxicity and carcinogenicity, and to provide a molded body containing the antibacterial agent having selectivity for food poisoning-causing bacteria.SOLUTION: The antibacterial agent having selectivity for food poisoning-causing bacteria is obtained by cooling and condensing vapor of hydrolysis products generated by treating bamboo with normal pressure superheated water vapor. The antibacterial agent having selectivity for food poisoning-causing bacteria preferably comprises 40 mg/L or more of formic acid, 1000 mg/L or more of acetic acid, 500 mg/L or more of one or both of succinic acid and malic acid, 100 mg/L or more of a furfural compound, and 0.7 ppb or less of benzopyrenes. The molded body containing the antibacterial agent having selectivity for food poisoning-causing bacteria is obtained by mixing 30 to 300 pts.mass of the antibacterial agent having selectivity for food poisoning-causing bacteria relative to 100 pts.mass of charcoal.SELECTED DRAWING: None
