Power toothbrush device comprises a handle containing a DC motor having a motor shaft, an eccentric connecting member, mounted on the motor shaft, and a brushhead assembly system including a rod member, designed with the ability to receive a detachable cleaning head with a cleaning element. Rod member is mounted for lateral movement relative to the king pin. Lateral movement is performed by the interaction of the eccentric connecting element with the portion of the proximal end of the rod member, wherein the transformation of the rotational action of the motor shaft into lateral movement of the rod member is performed by arranging the triangular connecting rod.
