PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article whose wing part is easily picked when it is worn and which is excellent in operability.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article has a practically vertically long absorbent main body 10 provided with an absorption layer 11 and a leakage prevention layer 12 and a pair of wing parts 5 and 5 extending from both side edge parts of the absorbent main body 10, and the wing part 5 is formed of a wing forming sheet material 50 joined to both side parts of the absorbent main body 10. The wing forming sheet material 50 is provided with a wing forming part 51 forming the wing part 5 and a wing joining part 52 positioned on the absorbent main body 10. The tip end 53 of the wing part 5 is formed by laminating two or more layers of the sheet materials 50 of the wing forming part 51, and the inner side edge part 55 of the wing joining part 52 is formed by folding back the sheet material 50.
