PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide linear seedlings quickly growing after transplantation. SOLUTION: The linear seedlings have underground stems growing in elongation almost horizontally and almost straight without getting entangled in other individuals. The method for raising the linear seedlings comprises for instance planting stock plants in the end of a raising seedling area of a long and slender shape. The elongation direction of the underground stems of the stock plants almost corresponds to the longitudinal direction of the raising seedling area. The elongation of the linear seedlings is promoted or the elongation direction is controlled through making the wettability of the raising soil in the elongation direction higher than that of the raising soil in an area where the stock plants are planted. The method for transporting the linear seedlings comprises make the underground stems of the linear seedlings get entangled with a net sheet and rolling the net sheet in a roll state.
