PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an &alpha-lipoic acid-containing composition which has the &alpha-lipoic acid uniformly dissolved or dispersed therein and is stable for a long period of time.SOLUTION: This &alpha-lipoic acid-containing composition contains 1 to 40 mass% following component A, 0.2 to 50 mass% component B, 0.2 to 50 mass% component C and 10 to 98.6 mass% component D. The component A: the &alpha-lipoic acid. The component B: edible oils and fats. The component C: a phospholipid. The component D: an alcohol. The emulsion obtained by dispersing the &alpha-lipoic acid-containing composition with water is provided.
