PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance-free deodorization body which can be used for a long period of time.
SOLUTION: The deodorization body comprises at least an absorbing agent (not shown in the figure) with physical absorption action, a catalyst (not shown in the figure) for converting aldehyde to carboxylic acid, a carrier (not shown in the figure) for carrying the absorbing agent and the catalyst and a planar heater 2 for heating the absorbing agent and the catalyst, the carboxylic acid converted by the catalyst is absorbed and removed by the absorbing agent, and the carboxylic acid is desorbed by heating the absorbing agent by the planar heater 2. The aldehyde which is harmful and is not to be easily absorbed is converted to the carboxylic acid which is less harmful and is to be easily absorbed, then it is absorbed and removed by the absorbing agent together with other odors, the absorbing agent is desorbed and regenerated by heating and ventilating the absorbing agent which has absorbed the odors, and thus the maintenance-free deodorization body 1 which can be used for a long period of time is realized.
