The invention relates to a cartridge holder (40), comprising a first cartridge retainer (50), at least a second cartridge retainer (52) and a locking device (600, 602) for each cartridge retainer (50,52), wherein each cartridge retainer (50,52) is configured to receive a medicament reservoir (620, 622) and wherein each cartridge retainer (50, 52) is movable between a closed and an open position, wherein the locking devices (600, 602) are configured to lock and unlock the cartridge retainers (50,52) in the closed position and wherein the locking devices (600, 602) are configured to operate such that only one of the cartridge retainers (50, 52) at a time is movable into the open position. The invention solves the technical problem of reducing the risk of misuse of the cartridge holder and at the same time increases its operability. The invention furthermore relates to an apparatus which comprises a main body (14) and a cartridge holder (40), wherein the cartridge holder (40) is removably attached to the main body (14).
