PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a disposable diaper, enhancing a close contact performance to a wearer, having no incompatibility and having an excellent cushioning performance, by using such an outer member thereof that has a stacking layer structure of an inner layer sheet and an outer layer sheet, at least one of the inner layer sheet and the outer layer sheet being a pleated sheet having a rugged pattern and methods of manufacturing a sheet member using the outer member, an inner layer pleated sheet, and an outer layer pleated sheet.
SOLUTION: According to this method of manufacturing a disposable diaper, a disposable diaper having excellent cushioning performance is obtained by using a chassis formed of the outer member in which the inner layer sheet and the outer layer sheet are stacked through an elastic member, and at least one of the inner layer sheet and the outer layer sheet is a pleated sheet where a rugged pattern is formed.
