Disclosed is an ambulatory infusion system, including:- an infusion pump device (1) including a pump unit (11) and an electronic pump control unit (12), the pump control unit (12) being operatively coupled to the pump unit (11) to control the pump unit (11) to continuously infuse a liquid drug into a patients body, the infusion pump device (1) further including a wireless pump communication unit (15), wherein the infusion pump device (1) is designed to generate a pump message to be signalized to a user, and- a signalization device for providing user signalization in accordance with the pump message,wherein the signalization device includes an earphone device (2), the earphone device (2) including an earphone audio transducer (22), the earphone audio transducer (22) being designed for attachment to a users head in direct acoustic coupling to an ear of the user, the earphone device (2) further including a wireless earphone communication unit (21),wherein the infusion pump device (1) is designed to transmit the pump message, via the pump communication unit (15), to the earphone communication unit (21), and wherein the earphone device (2) is designed to receive the pump message via the earphone communication unit (21) and to actuate the earphone audio transducer (22) to produce a pump audio message in accordance with the pump message.
