Provided are: a Streptomyces hygroscopicus CKDBR 0807 strain which produces rapamycin, which is an immune inhibitor, at high concentration； and a method for producing rapamycin using the same. The strain of the present invention is able to produce the immune inhibitor, rapamycin at high concentration, thereby being very economical. The present invention also provides information about base sequence variation of genes which may affect the improvement of rapamycin productivity and is obtained by comparing draft genome sequencing results of the strain of the present invention to a wild-type strain.
