PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new coated seed excellent in handleability, sowable property, and also germination performance and growth potential after germination, and having good vegetation fixity, and to provide a production method thereof.SOLUTION: There is provided a coated seed provided by forming a first coating layer controlling the elution of the fertilizer component around a core substrate containing a fertilizer component as a main component, and, therearound, forming a second coating layer containing plant seeds and a coating material.
