PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-in-oil type emulsion cosmetic giving no stickiness in use and yet having usability of excellent fresh feeling, and also exhibiting high washability in spite of excellent water resistance.SOLUTION: A water-in-oil type emulsion cosmetic at least contains 0.5 to 5.0 mass% of a polyhydroxystearic acid, 3.0 to 30.0 mass% of a volatile hydrocarbon oil having a boiling point of 220°C or lower at 1 atmospheric pressure, 0.5 to 50 mass% of a hydrophobically-treated metal oxide, 0.1 to 8.0 mass% of an organic modified clay mineral, and 0.1 to 10.0 mass% of a nonionic surfactant.
