A method of treating or preventing an inflammatory skin disease or a symptom and / or symptom associated with said disease in a subject, comprising topically applying a topical composition to a subject's skin area comprising a therapeutically effective amount of an α2-adrenergic receptor agonist, a therapeutically effective amount of a non-steroidal an anti-inflammatory agent and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein the area of the skin is susceptible to or may be affected by an inflammatory skin disease and whether a symptom associated with the indicated disease. 2.
