PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a search device for searching a target object to be searched via the smell by utilizing the brain waves of an ordinary animal not depending on a specially trained animal.SOLUTION: A brain-wave sensor 10 is attached to the head Dh of a dog D. The brain-wave sensor 10 detects the brain waves of the dog D. A microcomputer 20 creates brain-wave analysis data expressing the quantity of included &beta waves by the frequency analysis based on the brain waves of the dog D. If the quantity of the included &beta waves in the brain-wave analysis data is larger than a reference quantity of included &beta waves corresponding to the sensing by the dog D that the smell is not present, the microcomputer 20 determines that the detected smell is the smell of the target object.
