PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stopper for a long object, which can simply be mounted in a spool to surely hold the long object, enables to smoothly pull out the long object from the spool, and can be produced at a low cost.SOLUTION: This stopper for the long object can rotatably be fit to a winding portion (5) for winding the long object (6) in a spool (2) for the long object. Long nipping portions (7) are formed in both the end portions in the longitudinal direction along the circumferential direction of the winding portion (5). A press portion (8) and long object-receiving portions (9) are formed in the middle portion of the longitudinal direction. Guide routes (10) are formed between end edges or side edges and the long object-receiving portions (9). The distance between both the nipping portions (7) is narrower than the outer diameter of the winding portion (5), and can be widened in a larger size than the outer diameter of the winding portion (5) by elastic deformation. The press portion (8) is formed over the approximately whole width of the winding portion (5).
