PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for producing an edible chicken egg having an antioxidant power sufficiently containing ergothioneine by using bioconcentration of ergothioneine to the egg. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] An ergothioneine-containing chicken egg according to the present invention is produced by producing an ergothioneine-containing extract from a waste medium used in the production of edible straw, and mixing the extract with a commonly used chicken feed for egg collection.
