The present invention relates to a method of preparing a blended complex culture of microorganisms comprising: a) taking at least two portions of an initial complex culture b) culturing each of the portions under conditions which enrich each portion in one or more microorganisms to obtain a cultivated portion c) formulating a blended complex culture comprising at least one of said cultivated portions.
