The invention relates to a device for the self-sampling of epithelial cells, intended to provide a tool that can supply cells that can be used in subsequent analyses, preferably in analyses focused on the detection of cervical cancer or the human papillomavirus. The device comprises a cylindrical structure having two main sections, namely a gripping handle and an insertion tube, with a central rod extending through the cylindrical structure and comprising a retraction and push mechanism, allowing a sample to be taken from a patient quickly and effectively.La invención provee un dispositivo para la autotoma de muestras de células epiteliales, con el fin de contar con una herramienta capaz de proveer células que podrán ser utilizadas en análisis posteriores, preferentemente en análisis focalizados en la detección de cáncer cervico-uterino o virus del papiloma humano dicho dispositivo se comprende una estructura cilíndrica con dos secciones principales: un mango de sujeción y un tubo de inserción, atravesando la estructura cilíndrica se ubica un vástago central, el cual cuenta con un mecanismo de retracción y empuje, el cual permite la toma de muestra de una paciente de forma rápida y efectiva.
