A counting apparatus used on a sterile platform of an operating room comprises a collection bucket (1), a counting bucket (2) for accommodating the collection bucket (1) and a sensor (5) for sensing surgical equipment, wherein the counting bucket (2) is installed with a counter (4), a display (3) and/or a speaker (6), a power supply (7) and a power supply switch (8). The sensor (5), the counter (4), the display (3) and/or the speaker (6) are all connected to the power supply (7) through the power supply switch (8). The counter (4) is connected to the sensor (5), the display (3) and/or the speaker (6) respectively. The counting bucket (2) and the collection bucket (1) can be easily assembled and disassembled. After the power supply switch (8) is turned on, the sensor (5) automatically senses the surgical equipment placed in the collection bucket (1) and sends a signal to the counter (4). The counter (4) collects statistics and provides a feedback to medical staff through the display (3) and/or the speaker (6), improving counting efficiency of the surgical equipment.
