The present invention provides a method of treating or ameliorating a neurodegenerative disease in a mammal, the method comprising administering to the mammal a therapeutically effective amount of a neurodegenerative disease drug, wherein the drug is a substrate of an ABC transporter inhibitor, wherein the mammal is further administered a therapeutically effective amount of an ABC transporter inhibitor, whereby the neurodegenerative disease is treated in the mammal. In certain embodiments, the neurodegenerative disease comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of spinal cord injury, Alzheimer s disease, Parkinsons disease, Huntingtons disease, prion disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a tauopathy, and chronic traumatic encephalopathy.La présente invention concerne un procédé de traitement ou damélioration dune maladie neurodégénérative chez un mammifère, le procédé comprenant ladministration au mammifère dune quantité thérapeutiquement efficace dun médicament contre une maladie neurodégénérative, le médicament étant un substrat dun inhibiteur de transporteur ABC, le mammifère recevant en outre une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace dun inhibiteur de transporteur ABC, la maladie neurodégénérative étant ainsi traitée chez le mammifère. Dans certains modes de réalisation, la maladie neurodégénérative comprend au moins une maladie choisie dans le groupe constitué par une lésion de la moelle épinière, la maladie dAlzheimer, la maladie de Parkinson, la maladie de Huntington, une maladie à prions, la sclérose latérale amyotrophique, une tauopathie et une encéphalite traumatique chronique.
