The present invention relates to a composition comprising an extract of green chili pepper for preventing or treating radiation syndrome. More particularly, the present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating radiation syndrome and a food composition for improving radiation syndrome, comprising an extract of green chili pepper as an active ingredient. The present invention is useful for providing a composition and a food composition for preventing or treating radiation syndrome, comprising an extract of green chili pepper as an active ingredient, and providing a composition for inhibiting a variation of chromosome caused by radiation and a composition for retaining stability of chromosome.
