To provide a dental unit which is simple in structure and permits an operator to easily make a focal adjustment of a microscope without using the hand.
SOLUTION: The dental unit 1 includes a patient chair 10 having a base 20, a sitting portion 11, a backrest 12 and a headrest 13, a foot switch 21 permitting the raising and lowering of the sitting portion to be operated by a leg and the microscope 60 and dental lighting 30. The unit has a selector switch switching between a posture deformation mode permitting the sitting portion to be normally raised and lowered and a focal adjustment mode to make the raising and lowering of the sitting portion raising and lowering for focal adjustment of the microscope. The microscope and the dental lighting are attached to a common support, and the foot switch has an operating tool to raise and lower the sitting portion. When the focal adjustment mode is chosen, the sitting portion is raised or lowered only by a fixed operation distance of 3 mm or less with respect to one operation of the operating tool of the foot switch.
