An absorbent article (100) includes: a front exterior member (104) that is disposed along the lateral direction and a back exterior member (106) hat is disposed along the lateral direction, a lateral end portion of the front exterior member (104) being connected to a lateral end portion of the back exterior member (106). The front exterior member (104) and the back exterior member (106) each includes a non-skin-side sheet (118) located on a non-skin side a skin-side sheet (120) located on a skin side and an elastic string (140) provided between the non-skin-side sheet (118) and the skin-side sheet (120). At least the non-skin-side sheet (118) of the front exterior member (104) has a plurality of linear, front slits (150) formed in a row. At least the non-skin-side sheet (118) of the back exterior member (106) has a plurality of linear, back slits (150) formed in a row. No back slit (150) is provided at a vertical position at which the front slits (150) are formed in a row.
