PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants type absorbent article which enables a wearer to easily move legs, hardly causes leakage from his/her abdominal side, and is excellent in appearance when viewing from his/her back and side parts, though it is the underpants type absorbent article where the outer package material is divided into an abdominal side sheet member and a back side sheet member.
SOLUTION: The underpants type absorbent article 1 includes: the abdominal side sheet member 2A, the back side sheet member 2B an absorbent body 3 and side seal parts 4, 4. The absorbent body 3 includes first stereoscopic gathers 38 and second stereoscopic gathers 34 formed on the outer side of the first gathers, which are arranged on the both side parts in the longitudinal direction, respectively. The first stereoscopic gathers 38 are fixed onto the abdominal side sheet member 2A and the back side sheet member 2B so as to be inclined inward in the width direction of the body 3. The second stereoscopic gathers 34 are fixed onto the abdominal side sheet member 2A in a state of being laid inward in the width direction of the body 3 and also fixed onto the end edges of the back side sheet member 2B on a crotch side in a state of being laid outward in the width direction of the body 3.
