The invention relates to a device for punching holes in food in order to facilitate the separation of a bite-size portion, and to ready-to-use food having holes pierced therein. The device includes a frame (110) onto which a first and second rotatable cylinder (5, 4), which are parallel to one another, are arranged and respectively include a first and second shaft (15, 14) that are rigidly connected to the frame. The first cylinder (5) includes knives (1, 3) mounted onto the first shaft, alternating with spacers (2). Each knife is provided with radial blades (11), and the second cylinder (4) includes flanges (12) that are arranged radially on the second shaft, a space between said flanges defining grooves (13). The spacers provide spacing between the knives such that said knives are located within the free space of the grooves, and the distance between the two cylinders is such that the blades and the flanges interpenetrate.
