This living body state estimating system consists of: an item of furniture having attached thereto a state detecting means for detecting a physical quantity generated as a result of contact by a living body and outputting the same as sensor information; a biometric information collecting device which collects the sensor information; and a living body state estimating device which estimates a state of the living body in contact with the item of furniture, on the basis of the sensor information. The living body state estimating device is provided with a storage device which stores the sensor information, and an estimation control device which estimates the state of the living body on the basis of the sensor information. The estimation control device includes: a state information generating unit which generates state information indicating the state of the physical quantity over time, on the basis of the sensor information, and causes the same to be stored in the storage device; and a living body state estimating unit which estimates the state of the living body by extracting a characteristic relating to the physical quantity from the state information, and causes estimation information, which is the result of the estimation, to be stored in the storage device.
