PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate whether or not an ultrasonic image is an appropriate image for performing an examination using the ultrasonic image in performing an examination using an ultrasonic image.SOLUTION: An image forming part 18 forms a B mode image which is an ultrasonic image (evaluation object image) to be used for an examination. An image evaluation part 22 specifies an examination method for which the evaluation object image is used according to user input. The image evaluation part 22 refers to an evaluation item table 26 in which a plurality of examination methods are associated with a plurality of evaluation items, and specifies one or more evaluation items (selection evaluation items) associated with the specified examination method. The image evaluation part 22 evaluates the evaluation object images individually from the viewpoint of the one or more selection evaluation items, and calculates one or more evaluation values.
