A dental device 201 for anchoring a dental appliance within a patients mouth, including an abutment 206 with a distal end 208 characterized by a substantially concave surface 209 and a first hollow 210, a pivotable collar 211 with a substantially convex bottom 212 and a second hollow 213 formed through it from top to bottom, and an attachment screw 214. The bottom 212 of the pivotable collar 211 is configured to pivotally rest against the concave surface 209 of the abutment 206. The attachment screw 214 is configured to extend partially through the collar 211 and connect with the abutment 206 so as to secure the collar 211 to the abutment 206. When not secured, the collar 211 can be angulated relative to the abutment 206 to provide for the orientation of a dental prosthesis within a patients mouth.
